The All Southern High School Theatre Project (ASHSTP) is a partnership between Carbondale Community Arts and Southern Illinois University’s McLeod Summer Playhouse (MSP). The program offers intensive training with professional directors, technical and artistic staff in all aspects of musical theatre performance.
The Project’s 2017 schedule includes four weeks of rigorous instruction and rehearsal Director/Choreographer Wes Drummond and Musical Director Kevin A. Smith. Additionally, special workshops will be offered by guest artists.
As a key part of this performance-based training, Drummond will direct the students in a
professionally staged production of the Broadway hit Singin' in the Rain as the final show of the 2017 McLeod Summer Playhouse season.
High school students interested in off-stage production or technical experiences may apply for a paid internship, running from mid-June through the first week of August. Fill out an internship application here, and submit by May 5, 2017.
