Third Thursday Concert Series
Artspace 304 at noon

Southern Illinois Classical Guitars and Strings and Heart Strings Studio will provide a live acoustic performance over the lunch hour on the Third Thursday of the month.

This series is free and open to the public, bring a lunch and enjoy live classical strings in downtown Carbondale!








February 15 - Musicians, Augustin Zehnder, Violin and Felicia Kruse Alexander, violia.

The duet will perform a collection of Classical and Americana favorites. Both Zehnder and Alexander currently play with the Southern Illinois Symphony.


March 15 -  Total Eclipse playing Neo-African Soul Music incorporating African percussion and call and response cadences

Player(s):  Solo Mays (Percussion), Maat Mays (Bass and Vocals), Adah Mays (Keyboard and Vocals), Momma Mays (Vocals and Percussion), Abbaba Mays (Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and Percussion)

Total Eclipse is a family band that has a long history of music.  Recently the band has been formalizing it's material for public performance, recording, and touring. Total Eclipse's music is Neo-African Soul Music.  This music has a modern pulse that is entrenched in African percussion and call and response cadences with lyrics that entrench the issues of today within them.  Each song is originally composed, arranged, and written by the Total Eclipse band members.
