Free Art Saturdays

Carbondale Community Arts presents FREE ART SATURDAYS — free professional arts programming for the WHOLE COMMUNITY! Free Art Saturdays will be offered from 9am- 1pm on many Saturdays November through January.

 Dr. Michael Faris, the Arts in Education resident artist, holds a PhD in Arts Education from Indiana University. Faris has taught in drawing, painting, 2d, 3d design, ceramics, art appreciation, and African-American art and been the coordinator of Summer Art for All since 2011. His  Faris will use “constant criticism” as a cyclical method of feedback between students and teacher(s), which allows for constant communication about process and results.

All projects require the entire scheduled time. Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, parental/adult guardian supervision is required for all participants under age 10. All supplies and materials included. 


CCA’s Artspace 304 is located at 304 W Walnut Street in downtown Carbondale. Free parking is available in the lots off of S University Ave between W Monroe St and W Walnut St.
