We're off to see the Wizard . . .
 CCA is celebrating the 14th season of its All Southern High School Theatre Project (ASHSTP) with the all-time classic musical, The Wizard of Oz, directed by Jenny Holcombe.
The ASHSTP offers high school students throughout the region a unique opportunity for rigorous training in a professional-level environment and culminates in a full-blown production on the McLeod Summer Playhouse stage. Auditions for the program will be held on Saturday, March 27, starting at 10 AM at Carbondale Community High School (corner Walnut and Giant City Road, Carbondale). The fee for this five-week intensive program is $250 per student. However, due to rigorous fundraising by CCA (see below) multiple levels of scholarships are available, and financial need will not bar participation by anyone.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the McLeod Theatre Box Office at 453-3001. Every year CCA hosts an opening night dinner to raise money for the ASHSTP scholarship fund. This year the Mary Ellen Dillard Scholarship Dinner will be held on July 29 at 5PM in the Old Main Room of the SIUC Student Center. The cost is $30 each.
